Date Uploaded: Nov 18, 2006

This is the "Shorncliff Jetty", at Shorncliff, a suburb of Brisbane, Queensland Australia.

I actually used my height as an advantage, re taking this shot. I actually got into a squatting position, to make myself even shorter, as I wanted the illusion of perspective to be more pronounced, re the angle from which I took the image.

Just as I was about to take the photo a man walked in front of me, so I was pleased with that, and used him as the vanishing point of my perspective.

I hope you like it.

A good image by any standard. Hard to be fully appreciated in the context of a competition though.

I really like the strong perspective in this one. I think if you had sunset colors as the backdrop this would have really soared.

Good image, although a little overboard on the blue.

Nice lines and perspective, but I think you've oversaturated the blue. You might want to go back and take all that blue out of the wood, especially in the shadowed railing on the right (once you no longer have to worry about the basic editing rules) and tone down the sky a bit, too.

This is a perfect perspective shot. I always love photos that show perspective by the perfect placeement of an ever-so-tiny person in the scene. I love the blue tones. This is awesome. One of my favorites!

I LIKE THE CROP THE FRAME, ITS A NICE SHOT. I do not like the general blueish color 9even the wood is blue). i think it would have more impact in black and white

A little (or actually a lot) oversaturated for my taste - but I really like the composition.
