 So I pulled the one I originally had submitted (it's now somewhere in my portfolio) and went with this one. Grackle at the zoo - they've figured the eats are free and easy there. This one was hanging out near the really huge waterrat-like creature thingies, and posed ever so nicely for just a second.

Can you say "nice bokeh"?

Black and white conversion done in the camera - had it on monochrome for the jpeg most of the week.

I love the simplicity of it and as you say, "nice bokeh". Also, I'm very fond of grackles. :)

I'd say really nice bokeh if I knew how to pronounce it. (I know I got some help with that in the forum, but still not comfortable with speaking the word.) This is such a good shot of such a common subject. The bokeh makes it. Well done?

Ohmygosh! Is this photo underrated or WHAT! That beautiful bokeh background and great detail on those feathers make this an excellent photo! I am so disappaointed in the voters on this one!

I believed this was a fair subject for the challenge, maybe knocked because of the background not giving enough in focus true B&W through the image.

I really like the nice light back ground makes the bird really stand out. The eyes are great here, really draws you into the picture. Perfect crop as well.
