 Taken at 16mm, I lit up the waterfall with a flashlight, the technique is the same I used for this shot.



I know it will not score nearly as good as that one but I still like it. I wish I had some more time in this location though, it is shot around midnight and we had a three hour drive home after this (that´s right, I got home at around half past 3am and had school the next day) indridistefans came along. Anyway, had I had the time I would have taken this shot with about 1 hour exposure or even longer and taken my time and painted the cliffs around the waterfall in light too but I am kindof happy how this shot came out, don´t think It´ll do well enough, not "wow" enough for you guys is my guess :) I guess it´ll be unique in this challenge though and hopefully that´ll help a little, hehe. Anyway, am developing this idea and going to do more of this type of photography this winter, I hope to get some comments in this challenge on how this can be made better as I will be following up this technique more and developing it.

Only editing done is I brigtened up the sky a little bit with curves, shadow/highlights and sharpened, this shot is pretty much how it came out straight out of the camera.

Larus: you are quite an amazing individual. You are like a step and repeat machine that delivers as fast but then not really a repeat of subject matter but rather quality. Anytime I see Larus, I want to see the study. Congratulations on your top ten finish with this beauty emerging from the dark.

This is definitely a "stand-out" image amongst a pretty strong pool. I've never seen anything like it. Might be my top pick for the blue. I'm still in the reviewing and bumping process. Not bad for Day 1. Anyhow, congrats on a special and unique photo. Into Favorites it goes :)

Great job on lighting the waterfalls. The starry sky is gorgeous. Would it have been possible to light the cliffs a bit? I'd like to see a little detail in them.

Very dramatic. For my own personal tast I can't reconcile the ultra dark shadows with the bright waterfall. The spotlighting of the falls isn't quite believable. But it has tremendous pop! Very very well executed.

Wow! I like it! How did you achieve so many and crispy stars here? Are they natural? They seem almost too perfect. Nice composition, the fall looks almost 3D. Good job. Ten from me.
