My favorite of the bunch. I have shots like this from inside a stadium that I would have loved to have entered, but naturally the timing of the challenge wasn't right :)

Meets Challenge - 2
Lighting/Processing - 2
Composition - 2 - I love this. It could be even better if you were to put the woman in a seat that followed the "rule of thirds"
Overall Impression - 2
"WOW" factor - 2

I like the contrast of the chairs in the sysmetry of the design. Even though a person is in the shot I think it meets the challenge. Good Job.

DNMC..."and the players and people have gone home"

I'm sure you've already gotten alot of comments about this image not meeting the challenge. Other than that, the contrast of blue and red is really good - you have some bright vivid colours. The thing that kinda "bothers" me about this image is that the repeating pattern of chairs is not very visually interesting.
10/28/2006 01:54:32 AM
All the people have not yet gone home. Nice idea, I really like the image and story. I think that I'd prefer a tighter crop, it would still preserve the story, but allow me to see some facial expression that I want to see.
10/27/2006 09:27:16 PM
Great composition; hope the DNMC voters aren't blasting you for the person in the shot. Good color and clarity.

DNMC - i see a person.

I love seat pictures and like the placement of your subject and her vividly contrasting with the seats. DOF is right one and your selection for a seat section is great - strong horizontal lines and vertical lines coming from the sloping seat backs (and complimentary "cutout").

I think a key part of this challenge (imho) was being able to take a people-less photo and make it compelling, so I'm knocking you down a point for that from a "challenge merit" perspective. But the photo itself really works for me.

I just want to say yours is the only ten I gave in this challenge. This image is the first thing that came to mind when I heard this challenges description, somebody upset with the outcome. There were so many empty fields, stands and balls but no people. How would I know it was "After" the game except for your gem here. If you don't get a ribbon don't take it personally. Excellent shot. Only one other came close and I gave them a 9.

Ooh, a tough one! Without the person, this would have been just another picture of seats. With the person, it technically DNMC. I like the shot, though, and so does my wife :-) 6

this is my highest rated photo of the challenge. I love all the blue with the splash of red..really nicely done.

This is my favourite and top pick. I know the description said after all the people have gone home so I hope you don't get voted down too much by others!

that's it - use the seating graphically to offset the person! Love this - thank you for including a hint that a game happened! 8 for now

DNMC....and the players and people have gone home :-)
10/25/2006 05:44:43 PM
This is a nice take. Without the lady-in-red, the image would be a little boring (and you probably would have to use another title too). She makes it more interesting, but put in breach of the challenge: By the letter of the challenge it should not be any person there, but I'll use here some latitute I am entitled to, as a voter, and not penalize it (too much).

OK, I like the image. The red in a sea of blue is good and the only thing I can fault is that maybe the person should be a bit lower. I'd give this a 7 but as the challenge said "the players and people have gone home" I'll DNMC it=3 - sorry :(
10/25/2006 02:51:26 PM
Love the pic but it did say "afer everybody had left" so i can only give it a 7 sorry id have loved to have give it 9.

Uh-oh. Going to get hammered a bit for having a person in your photograph I think. You know, the whole "after the players and people have gone home" bit. This would have made a wonderful pattern abstract type shot. It's a cool image as is, just going to have difficulty with the DNMC group... Best of luck to you.

Great idea! The colors are excellent. I think a "rule of thirds" compositon would do better here.

I'm not going to vote because there aren't supposed to be people, and it isn't fair to photos without people. That being said, this is a very strong photo with excellent use of color. I would rate it an 8 if it met the challenge criteria.
