Very beautiful, even without the swan.

science ? a very unattractive picture of a swan far away. B&W makes it worse. sorry, can't see how it fits

Nice picture, but if it weren't for the title, I wouldn't have even seen the swan. If it were possible to get closer, it would have been a little better.

Science???????????????? Only if about 95% of anything is classed at such. Glad you mentioned it was a swan as well as I can't make it out.

I'm not sure if this is in the right challenge to be honest, the title makes me think its for the alone one. That said, its a nice black & white - unfortunately the size makes it difficult to determine details. The swan is very tiny and almost gets lost. If there is a larger version of this I'd love to see it. Lighting looks like it was good, subject has a nice dramatic air to it with the mist. I can't tell if those are bushes in the foreground or just strange reflection - either way its a tad distracting. Gave a 4, might have done better if the size was bigger, I couldn't see the science connection clearly either.

Science? Sorry, no matter how hard I try and see this I don't see anything remotely scientific going on other than that a camera was used to take it.

Id like it better without the swan...it's too small!

I regret both the small size and the inclusion of the partial plants in the very foreground in this otherwise incredibly romantic image. I really don't know what it is doing in this particular challenge, although I am grateful for this unexpected change of pace. If it is chosen with ironic intend, the irony would be lovely. ;-)

This imperfect and memorable image has considerable beauty. > 7

nice shot, wouldn't able to tell that the subject was a swan if you didn't say so, & how do you relate this shot to science? Just curious.

Beautiful, but the science thing is a bit of a stretch.

Seems a bit of a stretch for a science topic, and I can hardly see the swan. The reflections are awesome - maybe would have been better as a larger image than 400x300.
