Camera: Canon EOS-5D
Lens: Canon EF 24-105mm f/4.0L IS
Location: Studio, Vancouver, WA
Date: Oct 20, 2006
Aperture: f/4
ISO: 1600
Shutter: 1/13
Galleries: Portraiture, Children
Date Uploaded: Oct 20, 2006

Christmas lights taped to a black sheet. 3 tealights for front lighting. Laine was quite sedate because she was holding still enough for a 1/13th shutter.

Almost Straight out of the Camera.
Slight tweaks in RAW
NI (it was ISO 1600)
Crop
Saturation +10
USM
BAM!

She's growing up...

I was keenly aware that portraits didn't seem to fly in the last Bokeh contest. In fact, there were hardly any. I took that as a challenge. :) I'm please to see this was the highest portrait finish...

Of all my favorites, this is still to this day my top favorite photo on this website. I can only hope that when my boys get older, I will have photos of them that are half this good. Beautiful. =)

I really like this - I don't see a candle but it looks like there must be one illuminating your model. That look is priceless. Well done.

Cute portrait. I like the lighting and the warm feel of it. It also reminds me of Christmas...

The lighting is really low, and she is discolored. Having said that I have this ranked in my top 3. For me the lighting doesn't take away, but moreso adds to the photo. Having such a clear, crisp shot helps me feel that way. GL.

Laine is such a cutey!
The bokeh works well here. Good job Jason.
I'm getting a little tired of giving you high scores though.

I think it's a nice portrait, but in my view the bokeh is not the best element here, nor does it support the composition particularly well. Judging just the portrait, I would say the bokeh detracts. 6
