 Set up at the base of the St. Louis arch. Standing about 20 ft. back. Used Sigma lens, zoomed all the way out to 10mm. Got some lens flare from the lamp post, spot edited that out. Burned the sky some to bring out the dark orange and the clouds. Unsharp mask and a bit of levels.


Post challenge-
Wow... Top 20! I sure hope I can keep this up! To all those who wanted to see the bottom left corner of the arch: sorry. I was zoomed out as far as I could go (10mm), and I did try backing up some to get the whole arch in. Unfortunately, it lost some of the drama when I did. I will post a shot I took the very next night when the arch was lit up pink.

this picture is awesome!!! great use of light and reflection. I am interested in a negative for print if anyone knows the photographer!!

This is a very catchy image of an amazing structure. I am glad that you knew that you could get this effect at night, and that you did it so well. Great play on perspective with the way that the arch diminishes in size to the top and increases again on the far side of the river. The designer would be proud of this image.
