Challenge: Faceless Portrait (Advanced Editing IV)
Collection: Challenges
Camera: Canon EOS-20D
Lens: Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
Location: Harwich Port, MA, USA
Date: Oct 8, 2006
Aperture: f/11
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/60
Date Uploaded: Oct 8, 2006

From RAW, tone mapped version layered on original and faded, lithograph filter overlaid on tone map, hue/sat to fade saturation, slight vignetting, crop, resize, save for web, doomed to a lousy finish but I do like the picture a lot :-)

Profound, and something many of us aspire to be.

regardless of the DPC score you got from this unique entry, I really like the post-processing...

Heh - if I'd paid more attention, I'd have recognized this. I do quite like it, though I suspect for the DPC crowd it's overprocessed.

There's something about the way this image appears so controlled, like a still life, that appeals to me. Maybe it's the geometry of some of the shapes versus the natural lay of the others. The processing really enhances the look. It's high on my list of finishers...

This is really cool. I love the grain. I love the composition of just the feet on the wood. Great job.

good composition! Interesting to see the subject from the subject's point of view! Creates an altogether different and intense form of intimacy with the subject. 8

nice. this reminded me of a shot by antimethod, though his went much further. I like your idea for having your processing allow the shoes to become part of the wood.

The processing makes this more interesting than it would be without it. The shadows add nicely to the composition.
