 I set this up in my living room against the front door. I used white butcher paper for a backdrop, and drilled a hole in a piece of particle board to hold the spike. Two reading lamps supplied the lighting. Post processing was as follows:

Beautiful nonsense, so it fits the challenge. Everything else about it is superb, color, composition, the idea, the lighting and processing.

I like it giving a 6 or better although I find a bit too much light from the left. Maybe kick it down a bit and use a fill from the right. Just guessing, no expert here.
