Very nice. 10 Spiller

Nice shot. Did you try any nd filters? Maybe a #4 to bring out the sky. Maybe you would have liked the color version better then. I really like it though.

Love it and the low angle is superb.
08/09/2002 02:59:00 PM
Gorgeous photo. Excellent subject. Sepia is overkill in evoking old feeling.

one of my top 3s for the week.

the color scheme works well, so does the angle, but the background, specifically behind the wheels to the right in the photo seems a little cluttered, especially because the tones of the wheel and the items in the background are pretty similar. i know you can't always control these factors (unless you could've shot this from the other side w/out clutter, but obviously i have no idea what that looks like) -- gr8photos (5)

Nice use of a low angle to eliminate a cluttered background.
08/07/2002 11:54:00 PM
nice sepia toning for this photo

I love the way this looks as big as life - puts an emphasis on finished!
08/07/2002 08:44:00 PM
good tone and shrpness

Beautiful photo... one of the things i like about your composition here is the angle of the shot... this low angle does two things for me... 1 - it makes the tractor look larger... 2 - you have successfully hidden items in teh background that may have been distracting from the image... I also think your choice of toning works very well... good work :) - jmsetzler

This is a really good picture. I think that it's a worthy high scorer. I particularly like the sense of emptiness as well as age… (10)

Very lovely framing and nice use of sepia.

Woe, this is right out of the Twilight Zone. It makes me want to wish everyone into the corn field. Excellent capture the tones are superb. 10

finished it is.. the composition seems to be too much off balance for my personal taste.. i'd try a different angle.
08/06/2002 07:56:00 PM
nice!
08/06/2002 02:35:00 PM
Really nice job framing the subject and use of perspective. Keeping the horizon at the top of the tires just below the chassis so that the mostly clear sky occupies all of the area behind the bulk of the tractor is nice and adds to the grand feeling of the old tractor. This probably would look good in color too if the sky was a nice blue.
08/06/2002 02:28:00 PM
Absolutely superb subject. And I love that you got so low to the ground to shoot it. Sepia neither helps nor hinders. Excellent work. Love it.

very nice shot. i love the angle and the sepia tone. the background seems a bit littered with other things, but not much you could do about that. well done. ~mcmurma

One of my favorites in this weeks collection. Black and White makes it look old, which I like. The angle is great: it makes it look majestic, rather than junk. Picture is very sharp, back ground is still clear, showing it is dry and hot.

Very nice. You picked a great subject and you've taken a photo of it at an interesting angle.

Great shot, black & white really works. Don't know what else to say - well done!

Good picture, I would have preferred it in color.

Nicely done; I like the composition especially. lhall
08/05/2002 03:28:00 PM
Nicely done shot. I think your choice of angle with the sky as the backdrop works well here.
08/05/2002 02:48:00 PM
I have a shot of a restored Farm-All tractor that is almost exactly from the same angle! I bet they'd be nice before and after photos. 8) Great shot!
08/05/2002 01:38:00 PM
i really like this photo. Too bad about the clutter in the background, but your composition made it very subtle, until I just stared and relished the tractor. You can be proud. it does't just sit there. It evokes a sense of history. It makes me wonder where the farmer has gone, and if he'll ever be back. 9

Good choice. Focus is good, lighting is good. 8

The sepia tone is a perfect choice for this photo. I love the angle of the shot, the fitting surroundings and nice big sky. 10 Lisa

This is the best use of sepia this week.

I like this trackter shot the best... the B&W works very well 9

Nice composition. I especially like the part where the steering wheel and upper part are against the sky.
