i was tempted to show the finger fork-style but voted against it. but the idea, "sour-graping" i hope would work.

took several angle shots and finally decided on the fork outline just showing.

window light and a lot of improvised setup. you kow, using cardboard as reflectors, etc.

post-process: bumped curves to wash-out gray background and adjusted hues to get that "purple" at least on my monitor.

I love how you bent the fork and I am always a fan of makeshift set ups. The lines really give it an interesting flow. Congratulations on your top 20 finsih.

I really like the idea for this image and the the way you have composed it. Subjectively speaking, I think there may be a tad too much contrast. As a consequence the vine on top of the grape seems to be a little unrealistic.

Simply beautiful

Very clever and well shot. There is something about the that seems a bit off as this shot is really great. Maybe the contrast and the glare off of the grape? Nice work otherwise and I hope you do well. Good luck!

Cool shot!

One word..... Quirky! But I still love not looking at flowers!

Very nice, I like the really purple look of the grape and the clean lighting
09/30/2006 01:39:15 PM
Good idea!
09/30/2006 01:37:26 PM
Cool idea. Maybe a little different angle of light to avoid the bright spot on the side of the fork.
09/30/2006 03:28:09 AM
Oh man...you shouldn't a done that...he was just a fork! Hooray for not flowers! Thanks for something different! 8

A fun image although maybe a bit too bright?

Interesting and different, i was hoping to do something with grapes, but got distracted elsewhere, this purple has come out great

Clever.....

Like the composition. A little too high key on fork handle.
09/27/2006 09:34:32 PM
It's art! Very Creative. 8.

Funny shot - even the fork is recoiling. The grape stem looks a little blown out.
09/27/2006 08:02:23 AM
Oh Yeah - VERY nice, no better than that FANTASTIC

I love the concept! Nice, simple composition spiced with a helping of humor. One gripe about the grape, though, it looks like a green grape that's been color shifted...red grapes don't have the same type of striations on the skin and the stem has gone a bit saturated on the yellows...but I could be wrong.
09/27/2006 06:53:56 AM
a bit overexposed, yellow a bit obersaturated. nice idea, but had shot from a slightly higher angle
