My friend Britt was generous enough to wrap his legs in 8 rolls of medical bandages and sit in a bathroom stall on campus. I used a remote to trigger the camera after I was in the stall beside him. Even if this doesn't score very well we both had a great time creating it.

Surprisingly there were only two people that came into the bathroom while we were shooting. One just did his business as though nothing was going on and the other came to a dead stop, turned around and walked out.

Post:
Adjusted levels
Converted from RAW
Channel Adjustments - to blow out doors and flash hot spot and also to convert to make monochrome.
Burned bandages to give dirty feeling.
Burned white paper in lower right. I didn't notice it until I pulled the images on to the computer.
Unsharpen Mask - two passes.
Added Border
Increased canvas size for text
Added Text

POST CHALLENGE:

holy crap!! Thank you to everyone for all of your comments! I definately have to recommend that everyone take a camera, lights and a friend with bandage wrapped legs into a public bathroom for pictures. It is definately an experience :)

Here is the original I was shooting for:

Beautifully done! Was my only 10, actually, though in retrospect the blue certainly deserved one form me as well.

It's funny now but at the end of the day, I was still sitting next to a dude in a bathroom stall snapping pictures. :)

ROFLMGO!!!! Now if it were more prone to humor rather than anger, it could have kept itself "in stitches" instead of "coming unravelled." ;)

What a riot! B&W works well!
  Photographer found comment helpful.
09/15/2006 09:08:17 AM
LOL this is great! The simple B&W calls much more attention to the details of the photo - plus it is yet another nod to Far Side's presentation as that most were just B&W line drawings. Love how you included the caption within the photo for this entry - it makes it more true to Larson's comic. Now the humor and composition: Simple and clean in the presentation of this concept. All we see is feet behind a bathroom stall but we know what the action is. Love how the Mummy wrap trails off and then goes to the next stall where you know it is being utilized at toilet paper. The Mummy's wrap turns into the Mummy's Wrath. Boy, Maurice is really gonna get it! My only critique is that the details in the Mummy's bindings are not so evident - because the edges of the binding are a tad washed out it almost looks like he is just wearing tube socks - perhaps 'dirting' up the edges of the cloth bindings would outline them more and also make the binding look a little more ancient & worn. None-the-less a great effort. 9
