A hummingbird in the carpark outside my appartment. After struggling with the lens flare while trying to shoot these with backlight, I decided to stop fighting and just go with it.

I took off the lens hood and arranged the flare. Also exposed deliberately to really bring out the edge/ back lighting to the fore. Tungsten white balance used to add to the blue, etheral effect.

Nice work But the plants are getting more attention than the bird? 7 Which is high because I very rarely give out 10's

Interesting lighting and viewpoint. It's a little difficult to make out what is happening, possibly because the very high key diffuses details.

Interesting effect. I like the backlit plants, althought it's less effective on the bird. A lens hood might help with the flare.

Mmm. Interesting. I do kind of like the way the lighting and exposure makes the plants look like they are made of clear glass. Not keen on your choice of exposure in terms of background, bird or sky.

Very, very cool. I love this!!! Did you invert it and then tone it blue? I think that's basically it. This is one of the rare times when that WORKS and makes a great artistic image. Excellent!! 9.

Would like to know how this was done.

IMO needs a tighter crop of the top edge

this is an interesting shot, it took me a few minutes to find the angel....maybe cropping so the lens flair was not so noticible around the edges would have made it less distracting.

The blue is the right color for this. Like how the bird(?) is upright like an angel. The darker blue on the right side gives the image a messy feel. Did you use a flash thru a dirty window? Seems to have a few white spots.

Looks like a painting, I like it. Pity about the lens flare though.

Selection of color lighting and perspective on this image makes it one of the most interesting images in this challenge.

What a wonderful feeling. I judge alot by the content, not just the quality. Both are needed to have a great photo. Good luck!

Really had to stare at this one. You've really pushed your camera to the limits. I like it. Too bad the sun flares (even got a bit of a rainbow). Admire your attempt. 9 Rob the Swash

Okay, you're this weeks winner of the 'What the heck?' award!
Beats me, but I do know that I like it. Very dreamy, and I do see an 'angel'.

I really like this photo! I usually don't like images like this, but this one really works for me. The color is fresh and even the glow from the sun to me enhances the feel of the image.

Intriguing lighting. It is hard to understand what you're looking at at first, it makes you think, but maybe think too hard. Perhaps cropping in on the sides would help make the subject more central, and the glare less apparent,
