The tree is a kowhai. (Pronunced koe-fie). Taken at the wrong time of the day & probably oversharpened but there really was a stong wind blowing through the trees & it looked very blurry. I am hoping that I don't get too criticised for having trees in the background.

Hmmm... slightly oversharpened, the shadows are a little murky and the sky is badly overexposed on the top-left. But, I do like composition. You've managed to isolate the tree from the rest, well done.

you surely made a 'single tree' stand out as subject. If you could do a layer to blur everything other than the front tree and grass line from the base of that trunk and add tad more "pop" to tree itself you'd have a great shot here. overall I give this a 8..gl in challenge :-)

Great job on making the yellow pop out, Maybe just bump the contrast a bit to make the colours a lottle more definate, good sho nonetheless!

i like the yellow against the green. a slightly more off-center comp might be more pleasing to the eye, imho

Nicely outstanding tree. You picked a great moment of light to take this photo.

The lighting helps the subject stand out from the background. I think, however, that is not enough to make me interested in the subject. The dark horizontal horizon divides the trees at an awkward place. The foliage on the trees seems grainy/pixelated. The sky is blown out. Technicals can really make or break an image!
