This is taken from the observation area at Thatcher Park, Voorhesville, NY. It's a beautiful park with some great views, in the Heldebergs.

Thanks for your votes! Almost a ribbon--missed by .003!

When I saw the challenge, I immediately thought of this tree, which I had photographed last fall. I am going to make a diptych out of the two (or maybe using another shot from the latest session framed more comparably).

A masterpiece and such an ideal entry and one worthy of a ribbon. That famous 4th place. Regardless, congratulations on a lovely image.

Neil, Great shot! If we keep this up, eventually this tree will become famous! Congratulations on the 4th place finish.

Well done ... but New York state and green fields, where's the buildings, concrete and smog ;) Very beautiful!

I didn't vote much on this challenge, missed this one, which is a shame. I would have had this in first place. Very impressive. If I can get a single shot like this from my copy of the 10-22 then that would be fantastic.

A truly beautiful image that caught my attention due to a variety of factors. Very well done indeed.

Strong composition. What sets this one apart from so many that have a similar layout is the vastness and hieght to the shot overall. Beautiful editing, beautiful clouds and the depth/height felt from the land so far below is excellent. Bumping this up one to a 9. Great work.

Thatcher Park in NY? Great lighting, love the shadows in the valley.

Lovely vista. The cool greens and blues are great together. I like how the shape of the tree almost mimics the clouds' irregular edges. bumping up 8

All I can say, is that, I was stunned. A grand photo. A flat 10. Great job. I betting on blue or red ribbon. Good luck. <3

What a day (and place) for a daydream! I like the tones and colors. It looks as though you may have used a polarizing filter without overdoing the effect, I wonder if you could possible tone that effect down slightly and add a slightly warmer feel to photo. I'll be interested to see your shooting data on this. This is the type of scene that makes me want to take the innards out of my D1x and put it in one of my antique 'view' cameras with the f128 apature.

maybe if you could add some fill on the left side of the tree... just kidding! Fantastic image, highest score I have given so far.

Wonderful! The only nit-pick is the tree looks a bit soft on my monitor, but that is not effecting the score because this is a wonderful shot and it is most likely from resizing if it isn't just my monitor (or my morning blurry eyes!!! MORE COFFEE!!!! LOL) a 10!

Grand view, lovely lush green sight. If that wall and bush on the left were cloned out it would be sparkling. 7.

This is lovely although the darkness in the upper left is a bit out of place.
