 The lowering of our Jolly Roger signified the end of our family vacation. Pictured are my daughter, nephew Joe, and his dad Tim. The remaining 9 of us hummed "Taps" - pirate style (aargh, aargh, aargh).

Carova Beach, Outer Banks.

I'm gonna get hammered for showing "too much detail", particularly with the visible color on my daughters outfit. To me, it makes the picture. Oh well, we shall see.

This made me smile. Should finish in the top 10. I love the colour and the actions of the subjects. IMO it would be a little better if we could see a bit more to the right (and a little less to the left) to include the whole flag plus some sky. And maybe not as much of the bottom blackness. Still amazing though. Great work.

Cool photo... I feel that it is slightly oversharpened, and I wish the pole was not running straight down the middle! Nice colors and interesting silhouettes.
