| I love this picture! I just finished a book called "Modoc" by Ralph Helfer.... The true story of the greatest elephant that ever lived. It is such a good read. Maybe you would be interested in it? I cried twice while reading this book. I have never cried with any other book. Boy, my first message to you about the forum was prior to actually viewing your portfolio. You are very talented!! Lesley, the minute I saw this photo, I knew it was going to win blue. As you know, I'm a huge fan of your work, but I really think this is my favorite of all my favorites of yours! Elephants are my favorite animal in the whole world, and to be able to capture a moment like this would be the highlight of my photographic life!!!!!
Congratulations! Not just on winning blue, but on being able to get a photo like this! WOW!

| Wow! This is amazing! The lack of clutter in the background, the wonderful detail of that flimsy grass and the even mass of background orange all serve so well to emphasise the solidity of the elephant and focus the attention on the man hanging off the tusk! Fantastic! |

| The title is a bit off, considering that the Cirque du Soleil is one of the few "strictly human" circuses in the world, but it's a nice image. the blades of grass provide a nice anchor to the motion. the trunk's reverse ? is a nice balancing point as well to the guy hanging off the tusk. works well for me. |
