The largest man-made star in the world (or so it claims to be). This structure sits atop Mill Mountain in Roanoke, VA, overlooking the city. This shot was taken just before it was lit for the evening.

Some spunky colors going on there. Nice composition. The lines are a little too pixelated at this size. Did you try using bicubic sharper or smoother when downsizing it?

This could be an overly 'busy' photo but it works with the colors of the sky and the sihlohetted star. Much stronger image IMO than if the star had been lit. The symetry is perfect, just clone that small guy wire on the RH border of the pic. I like the way that the pink cloud frames the shape of the star. Good work!

Beautiful sky colors, the really set off what could of been a very busy subject. I'd say you handled the busy part really well and created a great photo. I imagine a printed version looks even better where you're not having to deal with the aliasing issues from all those straight lines.

cool angle, definately makes you realise the size of the structure, great sky! Pity about the tree in the left corner, i find it slightly distracting

nice symmetry in the star, and that sky is pretty wild. i too would like to see what that thing looks like lit, even if its not as good a photograph...just for curiosity sake...

The sky is great...post processing or like that originally? Good angle on the star and interesing subject. It would be interesting to see this lit up too!
