Location: Camplex Tree Park
Date: Aug 22, 2006

This shot took me about 2 hours. About 30 minutes out at the camplex tree park ..my husband in the crystal ball. He had to put up with me putting cactus\'s on his hand and everything..what a trooper.

Got home..edited and printed the shot.
Got my fog machine out(zachery-youngest son)ran it.
Chandraya and Mike(hubby) held towels in the background.
I put some jewels on and hit self timer and away I shot.
Used 1 400watt alein bee light with an umbrella.
Messed with the smudge brush to make my fingers look longer. Painted my nails a bit more.
Contrast and brightness.
Burn tool.
Cloned a few spots.
Resized and sharpened.

This is great! I thought about doing something like this, but didn't take the time. You did a great job with it. I like the very subdued lighting - it suits the mood perfectly. Even the blur adds to it, IMO. It gives a sense of the hands moving about the crystal ball instead of just a staged "Hold it" shot.

Yeah yeah... I know it is blurry..I really wanted to enter this challenge and didn't get it going till the last day. The focus was more towards the back and trying to get it just right was so hard considering the lighting I had to use to prevent reflection on the glass. I learned a ton for sure. Thanks all!

(hug) steve!

Nice imagery, well composed and accurate challenge topic interpretation. Beautifully done, though I would like to see a little sharper focus on the hands. I wish finding me would have been so easy. :)
I thought I felt those fingers close by. I sure could have used a nice massage. I pounded and pounded on the insides of the little glass ball where I was trapped all that time but it was hard to break out. LOL!
It is of interest to note there were a number of psychics involved in the search for me while I was missing. They had a lot of input, some more accurate than others, but the one constant was that they all said that I was OK and would return safely. That matched my true feelings the entire time. - Steve

Awesome shot! :) I would have liked to have seen a little more DOF to keep both hands totally in focus, but love the concept here. I'll be anxious to see the shot details after the challenge is over to see how you got the image of "Steve" inside the crystal ball. Good job! :D

Is this done with one of those 'Steve brushes'? fingertips are little odd, especially the thumb. But LOVE the idea and photo!
