i was driving down a road when i passed this meadow with about 10 cows in it
the cows were all peacefully lying down and enjoying some lovely late august sundaymorning sunshine
the scene caught my attention so i stopped the car pulled over and walked back towards the cows
the meadow was about 2 metres below roadlevel and thus a great oppurtunity to have a somewhat different perspective at the likeable animals
the very moment i arrived at the scene they all got up instantly and they never layed their eyes off of me for sec
also they acted kind of freightened like i was some evil alien or threating them with a gun or somethin or both..wich ofcourse i did not
anyway it didnt prevent them for the next minute or 2 to do some real groovy posing for me
this one is a once-in-a- life time line up i think
the extreme and tense attention of the cows is also quit visible i think
im very happy with this shot
thank u cows
u rock;)

the b/w i did using the channelmixer
and toning after with some red and yellow

a sharp mind suggested to give the midtones a little boost and have whiter whites but i have to mention the cows were a darker shade of beige so there were no real whites in the original scene
maybe a tad brightness got lost cause i prefered to underexpose 2/3 stop to prevent the bright light to have overblown parts on the cowskin

at least hope for this pic to hussle op my profilepage a bit

Very nice, I like the crisp processing and the colors. The cows are in a fantastic position! In my opinion it should have scored higher, but the competition is so numerous!

I have to agree...very under-rated...like a lot this challenge. Unfortunately, that means there are many over-rated shots, too. I hope that this shot lives on outside of this challenge. Good luck in the future.

Very whimsical, gives me a chuckle every time I look at it. B&W conversion for this is very good. Nicely done!

A bovine conga line, cool! I like the context of the barn and fencing.

Great capture! Love the processing, particularly how the cows stand out against the dark background. What really impresses me is the formation that these cows are standing in. Bumping up!

Nice picture, I like the perspective. Boost your contrast until your whites are white and you picture will have more pop.

Super, stark composition. I like the graphism here with the cows and centered house. Super work!

amazing effect, it seems like the same cow floating in space in four different incarnations. The exaggerated perspective is dizzying. And the backdrop for them is nice and dark and thematically neutral. Pure pleasure to look at. 10

Funny lineup! The single line right in the middle of the pic doesn't grab me very much, though.

Now line up, look this way and say cheese! No really, how did you make them line up like that? Great processing.

Excellent photo. Has a distortion of scale, and a bizareness of composition and organisation of subject that I really enjoy. Marvellous toning, too. Lovely work.

I love the dark sepia tones and the expressions of the cows. I think that this image would be even more impressive if you cropped down from the top to just a little above the top of the house.

What cooperative subjects! The light color of the cows against the very dark ground works very well.

They seem to be more cooperative than a lot of animals when it comes to choereography! I like the zigzag pattern and the overall presentation.

I love cows. I love this image. Love the contrast. Nothing at all I would change. Their positioning is almost mathematical which lends even more to the scene. Think the processing is excellent - like the high contrast and the patterns. one of those I wish I was there. I wish I had seen this. 10 and into my favorites.
