Hi All.... Thanks for the many kind words...

I'd like to say that I am a photographer with a talent for exceptional timing and a creative eye... but if I am I didn't really use it for this entry :-)

I was testing out my Bigma (50-500) and my cat happened to be sitting conveniently 20 yards away on a bench... I took a couple of shots from cover but was spotted... hence the pissed expression. (He really hates having a camera pointed at him and 80% of my shots turn out to be of the other end of him as he walks away!!)

One of three shots produced this entry and to be 100% honest it was only as I sat browsing through my weekend shots that I checked to see if I had a 'fit' to a challenge. I thought the mid-lick might qualify for stopped motion.

This is really a great capture. I might've lightened the eyes up just a tad in photoshop.

Love the square crop. That's got to be one of the thickest cat tongues I've every seen although I'm sure it's just the angle of it.

Cat lovers will be all over this one! ;^) Myself included. Great detail and I like your choice to go B/W tone. How in the world did you get this shot anyway? Just wait? After feeding? Hmmm. Well, I hope this does well for you. No, it's not as high tech or as fancy as some of the light bulb or splash shots, but it's fun...so good luck.

6/7/6..7 - Good capture. Even more 'stopped motion' and little less 'blown' make this even better in my opinion, but you likely know all that. Good composition with the square crop - wish it were 640.
