This was a very lucky shot!! I actually only use 4 bulbs and this was the first one. I set up outside so the light would be bright and the mess would be less. I at first thought I would be able to just throw the bulb down and get the shot - dumb - I had to enlist the help of my husband to hit the bulb with a hammer. We did this with the blue bulb (entry), red and two multicolored stained glass bulbs that didn't want to break at all. Like I said before - this was a very lucky shot. The other three had hammers or were a little too blurry. |

| Kick ass image. How did you get the bulb to explode? I actually found it difficult to break a standard light bulb and ended up having to use a hammer on it. |

| Wonderful! Very much like the idea of using a blue lightbulb on white background, not just white bulb on black. Works great for the contrast and makes it more interesting. Like the blue shadows on the surface. |

| One of the better bulb shots in the challenge IMO. Still a bit of motion blur however and that's going to cost you some in the voting I'm afraid. I really like the blue on white - very nice combination. The bulb base is quite sharp and detailed. I'm wondering if some of the blur in the moving pieces is because of aperture selection and DOF? Anyway, you'll probably do fairly well with this nonetheless. ;^) Good luck. |
