 Ok, I hate the difference in lightness from my own face and the puzzle. But, it took me 7-8 hours to get this shot, and I'm completely done with it.

How did I do it?

First, I took a photo of my face, eyes wide opened. After that, printed and cut it in a puzzle shape (printed it on the other side of the print. You can find the puzzle texture in Photoshop). This was the second attempt, tried a smaller size of puzzles too, but then the essence of the idea was completely gone.

After that, I attached the pieces of puzzle on a black piece of fabric. The upper part is stuck in my hat. You can't see it below, because I had a piece of fabric around my shoulders too. I held the fabric in my left hand, used the selftimer and a remote-controller.

Light comes from a striplight (yahooo, I got one!).

Editing was pretty easy, no special things. Rotate, crop, levels, USM. Wish this was an advanced editing challenge..

After challenge:

WOW guys, I never ever expected a blue ribbon! Well, I hoped for it all week of course.. been a long one!

About the hand: I had to include the hand because otherwise you would've seen the line of the fabric on my face, and that looked like crap. I know the hand is distorded and a bit out of place, but this shot came out the best and I was done with it..

About the earring: I shouldv'e left it out, but didn't think of it, only after phayanak mentioned it.

About Dali & Graphicfunk: This shot has been compared to these 2 masters, during voting. Fulgent & casie, thank you guys so much for your BIG compliments!

About the rest: I can't say how excited I am.. thank you all, guys, for your wonderful comments and votes. It has been a fun week!!!

i gave it a 9, i should have given it a 10, honestly that's one of the shots that encouraged to continues on dpc, i was so impressed by it, so creative and so well executed.

A wonderful concept which works well as is. There is a transfirmations from the whole to the pieces and here the tonal valye is well accepted as part of the process. You did a very good job. Congratulations on your Blue.

Congrats supergirl, figured it was only a time before you started your collection of ribbons, I predict Elvi will be next :P Gotta agree with you on the difference in lightness on your face and the puzzle pieces but nothing that bothers me much and I would have voted this shot high if I had voted in the challenge. Would have been even nicer if the colours were closer, I think. Or maybe starting off with skin colour from the face and then fading in to the distance .. Just a thought.
