| There is a lovely stillness to your model and in that I can find some zen, as well as organic feel to the image. I think the focus is great and your model has such gorgeous facial features, very nice cheekbones and the shape of her head is excellent. The delineation between model and background could be better if the focus was a tad sharper and unfortunately the natural light here does your model a disservice as it makes the colors and everything look flat to me. If it were a bit brighter I think the richness in her skin tone would really show up especially with the white shirt contrasting and perhaps a polarizer would add some depth to the colors of the background. Not sure about that though. I think this has some great potential but the flat lighting/haze really tamps that potential down for me. I gave 5. |

| Good choice of subject. Unfortunately, a number of technicals have gone slightly off. The nose breaks the cheek line - a slightly different angle would have helped with that. Additionally, the background bisects the frame and the subject twice, once with the water line and again with the tree line. Overall, the image looks almost cloudy and lacks contrast. Something has gone wrong with the facial definition - the eyelids are noticeably more lined/wrinkled that the rest of the skin and this makes it seem like too much NeatImage (or whatever) was used. Overall, it's a decent shot that meets the challenge, however, with all of these small nitpicky things in composition and post processing just slightly off it misses the mark a bit, for me. | A very nice shot. Besides being a great portrait, the softness of the colors and lighting makes this work for me. The background is NOT distracting, which is a plus for me in this challenge. The subject is interesting, but has a sense of softness about her as well, which works in harmony with the total shot. She seems at peace, and that peace is carried over to the whole photo, and then to me, the viewer. Great job from the 'Great Job Baggie'! |
