very very nice. the noise level and texture of this shot gives it an almost painted feel; also the lighting is very pleasing. only criticism is that i kind of wished both eyes were equally sharp and detailed; but it's a minor quibble. i love the close crop, the feel of the picture, and the almost smiliness of the face. really cute too. 9. |

I love the expressiveness in the eyes. This has a Nat Geo quality about it. |

Tight crop, great subject, ... but RHS is soft in focus. Eyes should be tack sharp. Love the smirk .. |

If you had adjusted the blue down just a bit in post processing this would have looked like it was truly a B&W (Not sure if that is legal for this challenge). I consider this a minor issue and have rated this in my top 10. |

Try to use a noise filter next time. Good idea! |

Almost in focus. Sorry - couldn't resist.
Seriously - in focus and a little brighter, and I'd vote this much higher.
Given the current shot, I'm guessing you were inside, holding the camera in your hand. If so, try to brace yourself against something solid.
Another option is to set the exposure to about -1. That'll reduce the time the shutter's open, which should reduce the blur, and you can brighten in software later. |
