My first color challenge entry and there are no colors. I have a similar onein my portfolio. I think this one is better, but I still wasn't able to get quite what I wanted. (Very difficult to get everything lined up just right)

did you experiment with different levels of DOF? seems it might have benefitted from a bit more. nitpicking but the dividing line does not quite match up to the board. all in all I like the concept.

This meets the challenge. It's a good photo. I'm just tired of seeing photos of chess pieces.

Crop off a little of the left side of the image. Otherwise, it looks great.

There will be plenty of chess pieces in this challenge, I'm sure. but this is nicely done.

The perspective of the chess-board is well executed, with a narrow depth of field to make the board blur towards us. The reflections of the pieces works well, too.

I might've tried cropping some off the top, and maybe reframing to make for one-third/two-third split of back vs white, rather than three-quarters/one quarter. Nitpicking, though - overall it works well.

I love the humor here; there is a sense of play, of conversation, of him and her. Pity the white background in the upper right has visible gradation lines. Still, this one just makes me smile, so it's my favorite.
