this is a wonderful, wonderful shot, Manny.
I have to put this to you - your people portraits are superb!
GuGi said something that I'd like to second, quote below,

"You have what it takes to make people open up without the photographs becoming an invastion of their privacy"

good words, and very apt! Good work there.

The more I see of your work, the harder it is to find the words that convey what I would like to say without repeting myself.
You have what it takes to take good pictures of people, excellent even. You have what it takes to make people open up without the photographs becoming an invastion of their privacy. You have what it takes to bring out pride and joy, even though the surroundings might seem miserable to others.
You make our dpc-world a better place, you make the world a nicer place to be. Thank you for all the wonderful photographs you share with us. I'm lucky to share that team-logo with you :)

Is this another hard-to-resist Goodman shot? ;-) Amazing contrast. They look almost metallic. There's some pink on the forehead of the boy on the right, who has a bat in his eyes. Looking forward to seeing what lens you used.

I hope you get the blue. you or that poor woodie. you distort the children visually but never lose their humanity. I suppose they should get some of the credit for that! wonderful, dynamic, human picture. 9

what I like:
Their expressions of course! Handsome young men having what looks to be the time of their lives - the sign of a very talented photographer. The lighting is gorgeous.

What I don't like:
I wish I could see more of the boy on the left behind the closest boy. Actually if the closest boy wasn't in the shot I think it would have been better. It does add a certain amount of frenzied mayhem to the photo (which is good in a shot like this) but in this case I think it detracts a bit too much from the boys in the background. The other thing (and I know it's a style and a matter of personal preference) is the desat grunge look. On many photos it works great and I really like it - but I've been seeing it on similar kids to these a lot lately. These kids are so alive and full of energy - I want to see the life! Which means I want some color! They are almost bronze statues here - break 'em out of the shell :)

Lovely. Beautiful post processing and well captured expressions. Though I can see 10 eyes but I feel 5 faces aould have made it more obvious. Still a 10 for me.
