Hi, There, I've got this same camera and it really sucks with noise with anything over 1 second. The in-camera noise reduction filter does work pretty good though. I've played around with it a little bit. I can't remember where it is off the top of my head but it's not too hard to find. For images that have alot of noise, it takes 1 to 2 seconds longer to store the image, but it's worth it in a pinch. It works good in low light up to about 8 seconds, them it still leaves some noise behind... but it's still better than without it.

Your composition here is excellent and it tells a story. However, the grain (which may be intentional), distracts a lot. It keeps it from being a standout in the challenge.

The pixelation effect doesn't work for me. It just looks like dust on my monitor.

Sorry...the noise is just too much for this

You need to set your ISO lower on these long exposures. The visible noise has severely detracted from your photo. Also, if you'd taken from a slightly higher angle, you might have got more of the fireworks over the childrens' heads - would have added impact to the photo.

I really do like the idea, it's creative and thoughtful. Too bad about the noise.

I like the water color / pencil sketch effect the grain produces. Good job!

I all most under rated this picture... i thought about this one for a sec. thought about the title. with the little speckles addes a little age look. i think your title fits well. the crop could be a little tighter. 8
