nice clean, simple shot. Lighting is good, as is your capture of the motion!
09/02/2003 12:46:18 PM
You achieved a nice sense of movement with this one.

As tools go it's about as obvious as it gets. But this is a great shot, well composed, nicely lit and an excellent capture. I imagine this will score highly too.

Great trail of silver, this is so clean and the background is perfect, great colors (the red handle makes it alot more pleasing to the eye)-- good Luck 10

good long exposure shot, like the red in the hammer for bit of drama against the black.
08/31/2003 06:44:53 PM
Very nice composition! I like the lighting and the motion.

Very cool pic! I like the motion blur! - 8

Only thing missing from this is a bunch of sparks from the impact : )
Flawless shot with great streaks on the motion. Only surprise is that I haven't seen loads of this type of shot (yet!). 10

You hit the nail on the head! (I wonder how many times you will hear that comment ! )

I like the motion captute and the fact it is still in focus at the nail head, but the lighting was a bit harsh for me (personally). 8

Beautiful image your took. Red handle gives the composition some color. Love the blurring motion that you achieved. Great photo.

Great use of shutter speed. This could be more dramatic later on by layering a picture of the motion blurring hammer with the nail inside the hammer.

I'm curious as to how you did this. Did you use effects, or was all of that in camera?
08/29/2003 01:59:54 PM
Fantastic motion shot

Great shot and nice effect.
08/28/2003 05:47:29 PM
clever use of movement and color saves what would otherwise be an ordinary photo.
08/28/2003 04:13:48 PM
This is a great capture. The motion capture coupled with the sharpness of the hit sets this image head and shoulders above the others.

Inspired by the garbage challenge winner ? Good idea to use that technique of pulling the hammer upwards to suggest the movement here. After all movement is an important aspect of using any tool. (I know how difficult it is to get this right, I used the technique once as well) Unfortunelately the image still does not appeal much to me. 7

I like the motion.

just so nice, i like the movement effect, as usual RED is powerful colour, it always eye catching, quite overuse colour in photography but its still very effective in your pix. the composition is just so great. and the best thing here in your image...is very neat...good luck to this challenge and i do hope youll landed in top 5....all the best...im giving you 10....wait...i also like t he border. im a pro border.

Great effect... I thought about trying this myself but figured it would take forever to get it right. :) Great job! 8.

Excellent shot!
08/27/2003 11:09:53 AM
Excellent! Clean and simple lines, nice action and lovely color added with the red handle. Overall a very pleasing shot, perfect for the challenge.
08/27/2003 10:35:50 AM
Very sharp! How did you do it without blurring the hammer and nail?
08/27/2003 09:47:37 AM
I initially attempted something similar with my own shot, but I wasn't getting the results I had hoped for. You pulled it off very nicely! - 9
08/27/2003 08:25:29 AM
Nice. Love the colors and the capture of movement. Border is working. A top pick for me.
08/27/2003 03:44:11 AM
It's nice to see you using a hammer imaginatively. Great lines. 8
08/27/2003 12:54:45 AM
Beautiful timing 10 from me!
08/27/2003 12:10:01 AM
I was expecting to see a lot of hammer hitting a nail shots, this one is very well done. Clear and in focus all around. 7
