I used a slower shutter speed on this to try for a little motion blur on the hammer but it didn't work out somehow. And this guy was really swinging the hammer. Maybe I should have worked at this a little more, but seeing it was a last minute entry I didn't have any more time to take more pics.

He has half a finger missing on his hand.

I tried this and can't seem to get rid of the grain. I love the detail in his hand. Congrats on the top 10!

My vote for blue ribbon, the hand has so much charachter, it really looks as if the has swung the tool its whole life. I love the 'bronze' tones, especially against the black. This is a strong and powerful image in my opinion. Wonderful job!

Very special color and lighting. Strong through simplicity. At first I thought he was holding the hammer rather strange, as if it was going to slip from his hand, but then I saw your title. No 10 because the title is needed to fully appreciate the picture. 9
