Or... city blown out.
06/26/2006 09:13:12 AM
Much too bright, maybe a use a smaller aperture or some ND filters. Photo is also pretty soft.

did you purposely leave the towers out of focus? I'm not sure I understand the reason and the point of this photo.

way over exposed

Overexposed.
06/25/2006 09:06:00 AM
A bit hard to make out
06/25/2006 01:51:36 AM
Too overexposed.

This is way too overexposed; the light flareouts are painful rather than pleasing, and the light grey featureless sky does nothing. A long exposure could work here, but you need a much smaller aperture to ensure less light gets in - try underexposing by half a stop or so. Also, cropt out a lot of the sky because it adds nothing (unless you get some features in it).

Too blown out for my taste.

too blown out for me..

Good title based on the shot you got. Shame it's so over exposed. Did you take some others with shorted exposure time? They probably look nice.

Well, where do I start. Looks like this really had the potential be be a nice shot. You chose a beautiful skyline to work with. But...it is overexposed, and blurry. Not knowing what your camera settings were other than a 30" shutter I cannot say what you should do to fix the exposure. But, if you were not using the largest aperature setting, i.e. ~29, that would be a start. As for the focus, if you were not using a tripod or another stable surface, try that next time. Correcting those two things would improve this pic 100 fold.

I think you have the makings of a fine photo here. The main problem (IMHO) is that it's over exposed. Maybe a lower ISO and/or smaller aperture would have helped, or possibly a neutral density filter. The reflections would then be visible (one of the photos strongest elements.) If it were me I would crop the bottom 10% of the image losing the dark line. Sorry to sound negative. Just my opinion.

City Overexposed?
06/23/2006 12:46:15 PM
Oww. Hurts my eyes b/c it is so bright and blurry.
06/23/2006 07:19:43 AM
I think this is obviously over exposed, and a bit noisey.
The reflections in the still water are great though.

Im afraid photo seems very bright and washed out. It also appears to be very blurry.
06/22/2006 10:10:05 PM
too hot

Contact me, I know this spot and would love to help you capture what you are looking for here. The only problem with this is the over exposure, maybe shot at f22 would have made it better. Love the location though just look at my profile.

I can't say I like this severe overexposure and lack of sharpness.

30 seconds was wayyyy to long for this shot at the settings you used. It's to over-exposed.
06/22/2006 11:15:45 AM
DonĀ“t know what to tell you but this shot is overexposed, severely and the result is not aesthetically pleasing, nice try though, try a lower iso, smaller aperture or an ND filter next time.
06/22/2006 06:41:39 AM
seems overblown. appears to be nice composition.
06/22/2006 05:22:35 AM
Shame about the blow-outs as this could have been brilliant. As it stands it is just too harsh.
06/22/2006 04:59:10 AM
could have been stunning with a higher aperture and lower ISO .. it's too over exposed

Not your typical city-scape
06/21/2006 07:39:54 PM
Mmmm, overexposure? It would have been nice probably.
06/21/2006 06:26:23 PM
i don't particularly like the look, but i think that's very subjective.
06/21/2006 05:45:25 PM
Lokks to be over-exposed. Too bad...Would have been great.
06/21/2006 04:21:58 PM
The blownout hightlights work for me here.
