 This grinder is right next to the outside door so natual light is illuminating the right side which was nice. Then used a tripod to hold the camera with my right hand and my left hand to push the metal rod into the grinder. I took a lot of shots to get this one with enough sparks to make it interesting enough. I used lots of different angles also, and deciding this "perspective" was the best. The slow shutter speed really allowed a lot of "trails", etc. to show up. Used a black piece of cardboard behind the grinder to give an even background.

Post processing used Levels and very light Unsharp Mask.

Excellent choices of framing, shutter speed and light. If possible I would have cut back on the light level to put a little more emphasis on the sparks.
