 Took a shot of the Hollywood sign on the way to the airport at the end of my "vacation" (traveling with four kids).

Hollywoodland was the name of the housing development for which the sign was originally advertising, before it was restored as a landmark for the movie-making neighborhood.

Climbed a little ways up the Hollywood Ridge Trail to get an unobstructed view, albeit enough to the side to run some letters together. This was really just a snapshot, before I even knew the topic of this challenge.

Cropped it from a landscape to portrait view, adjusted the contrast and color a little, resized and sharpened a little.

i like this, great contrast -- but you do know that without prior approval, it's not necessarily legal to take photos of the Hollywood sign, right? Weird, but true.

I don't know that I like the snag in the foreground. BTW, you might want to be really careful about using this shot anywhere. I have heard that the city is really anal about who can photograph the sign and for what purpose.

Funny that someone took a picture of this and entered it. I *almost* took a picture of "CHINATOWNLAND" today! :D
