Believe it or not but we actually went over to Liverpool for a photo for this challenge, in fact my architecture photo was taken in Liverpool. Had a great day out, went to the Cavern club and watched a load of live bands. I took some photos that were 'Beatle like', however I really like this photo. The look on the wicketkeepers face, the expectation of the kid in the background and did he make the catch? (which incidentally he didn't)

::: Greetings from Critique Club :::

Hi, as requested, here is an indepth critique of your submission.

First Impression - the most important one:
Nice action capture. Title works for the challenge.

Composition:
It's decent. The main subjects are in good positions to make them points of interest.

Subject:
Subject is clearly the man trying to make the catch. So you defined him well.

Technical (Color, focus, and light):
All excellent.

To grow its vote?:
Convince DPC voters that not all good photography has to be over-processed and dramaticly grungy :-)

Summary:
I really like your shot. Nice entry for this challenge.

Hope to see more from you soon,
Leroy

Interesting point of view for this challenge. As for the photo, it works well for me regardless of the challenge. There is a lot of tension in the image, from the catcher, to the batter (it that what they are called?) to the onlooker in the background. 9

Great capture! Love the kid and the catchers expressions! Too bad you didn't have either a touch more motion blur in the ball or a frozen in time ball...

Great stop action. The timing and expressions are perfect. The slight blur of the ball and nothing else looks good. I like the amount of space you've left around the people. DOF is good and exposure is good. Well done.

I sure hope that's a weirdly painted wall in the background and not a horribly over-processed sky. As for the main subjects, the guys are nice and sharp and stand out beautifully from the background. Nice action capture!
