Nicely done Karen! I like very much the way the 3 dominant colors work together (green of the grass, blue of the sky and water and white of the dress). Well balanced. I love the way the girl's skin color plays against the pure white of the dress.
Love her pose; young girl evokes playfulness and inocence. |

Congrats, Karen. I just love this picture and thought it was taken somewhere in Central America! lol
It's funny how subjective one is. I read Patella's comment and he would have liked to see everything in sharp focus. I, on the other hand, particularly likes the grass out of focus. It gives the image a painterly feel and it draws all the attention on the little girl in the white dress. |

Thank you everyone for such wonderful comments and support! This was the first time I envisioned how I wanted a photograph to appear, and then set out to produce it. I got the feeling and results I wanted to acheive. Felt good! It has been an uplifting week!

| Pretty, pretty picture. I love the bright white of her dress, and her skins tones look good, but the rest of the levels seem a little dark (especially the grass). I also think this one would be good for a really large depth of field (small aperture, big F#) so that everything was in a sharp focus. The downside of that is a longer shutter speed -- if it was windy, it wouldn't work because everything would be blurry for other reasons. Anyway, good capture. |

| Congratulations, This is my top pick for this challenge. 10 This is “picture perfect” I do like the title, but I can’t figure out how it ties in with the picture. (I never let the title influence the quality of the picture) The skin tones are excellent, The hat, the bare feet, the white dress is all superb against the other colors. This picture allows me to be many places, It gives a strong feeling of being in the Mediterranean. |

Absolutely beautiful! However there are a few minor imperfections. First, the overall image appears slightly dark and flat - some time spent colour correcting with curves in photoshop would have brought out the colours and made it more brilliant/vibrant. Second, the image appears slightly out of focus - some minor sharpening would have likely improved it. Have a look at http://homepage.mac.com/ashahrestani/PhotoAlbum17.html for before and after comparisons of your image.

| Although the child is darling, I think I would have loved to have her out of this shot - the boardwalk and the grass alone looks almost to me like a painting.
