Everyone needs a woody shot in their portfolio, right? I originally thought of this shot using a stick figure made from pipe cleaners, but while at the craft store looking for pipe cleaners, I came upon a woody. This poor guy has a steel rod shoved up his, umm, butt, with a base attached to the bottom of the steel rod. Can't seem to remove it, either.

Took Woody, put the lens cap in his hands, put a picture of some gnarly clouds* as my wallpaper, sat in the desk chair, and shot the picture, handheld. (*Gnarly cloud shot was taken on one of the rare days we had "weather" here.) Post processing - crop, autolevel, USM, resize, USM.

Note regarding title - pun is intended.

Sorry to get to you a little late

This is a really good woody shot, and a great humorous idea for the theme. The lighting is really impressive as it fits in perfectly with the background .
Composition is strong, and fits the square crop well.

There does seem to be a little soft bit at the bottom, on woody's legs and the base of the lenscap, which is the only thing that bothers me

Other than that, very good score/placing - well done :)

[[trading post]]

this is very amusing picture, composition is good, lighting is good, and the only thing I found wrong was that blown out spot in the sky, if that would be ok then this image would have scored much higher.

still the 23rd place is very good :)

I like this one pretty much as it is. The only touch I think it needs is a bit more light on the head. Judging by the near top 20 finish others liked it as it is, too.

Great shot Deb - gave this one an 8. Funky background could have used a little less noise - but the shot overall has a great fantasy feel to it. Just looks cool. Well done and its always great to have a new pic in your top rated lineup.

Very nice, and a pretty good finish. The lighting is a bit uneven, and I think that hurt your finish a good deal. It could have used a bit of noise reduction as well. Other than those two small issues, great shot. The title is priceless.

This is adorable. I didn't vote in this challenge but I would have given this a 10. Great lighting and DOF. The concept is just too cute.

Nice job Melethia. I intended to comment on this during the challenge but never got back to leaving any comments on Lenscap. This was one of my top picks - really stood out to me - so cool that it was yours. Nice composition, light/shadow, color and emotion. I think it should have scored higher.

Nice lighting and colors. They work with the composition and the clouds to create some drama.
The lens cap and "woody" arent' as sharp as I would have hoped for. Also, there is some noise in the background (particulary in the blue).

Overall, a very nice shot though.

I assume that you spelled it Cannon deliberately to suggest what it is hiding. Very clever. (Shots of woodies usually get very low ratings from me but somehow they seem much more appropriate for this challenge.)

Hehe I get it! What is that like a 52mm canon...? I can't tell if the canon is really small or the woody is really big! Ok I'm leaving now

Now this is clever......very clever, as I am not a lover of "Woodies", but this is good..... Next time clean out the dust in between the sections of woodies body, and it would be perfect.....
