Outstanding portrait, the background lights add so much to the shot and make it a great environmental portrait!

This is a wonderful street portrait. I may have moved the subject slightly in order to minimize some of the haloing, but still a great shot. Wonderful use of the thirds rule. :)

Nice shot. I really like the bokeh but I'm not too fond of the halo effect of the cop.

The dichotomy of the contact of the eyes in this kind of thing: many seem to think that that makes a portrait, for myself I think it dissociates him from his environment. This is kind of classily typical though - perhaps the exact kind of thing the challenge suggester had in mind. I'm no particular fan or otherwise of it, but it's plainly assured work.

Love the nightlife backdrop, nice composition and the border works well.

Your color looks a little green on my screen. The photo itself is just wonderful. Not many people read the challenge very well. You did a great job.

This is really cool. I love the lights in bokeh behind him - it really makes him look in his environment. Perfect for the challenge!

Nice shot, love the backround, not as fond of the halo all around the officer but that´s just nitpicking. 7 from me.

This is my favorite so far. Wonderful background choice with the city lights, definitely in his environment. He certainly is a worthy subject to represent our courageous police officers. 10

This is a great shot, except there is haloing of some type around the officer. I don't know if that's sharpening or masking, but unfortunately, it detracts from the picture (IMHO)

Very nice composition...the border works nicely. I like the contrast of the brightly colored background and the comparatively colorless man in black. There's no question what environment he's in.

This is a great environmental portrait! The officers 'envirmonment' is clearly dipicted with the street lights, yet it's subtle enough that he really stands out. Very nice!

I like how he almost fills the frame but there is enough background to see this is taken in a large city. Nice.

Nicely done! Easily a ribbon winner. Congrats on a great shot.

Nice shallow DOF, that really makes this image. Also your subject has a kind face and that attracts people to the image and his story. Nice touch using his name, personalises the image

Great contrast between the black uniform, the shiny badge and the colored lights. It's the kind of picture you could look at for a long time, making up stories to fit the officer and the background.

The only thing that detracts from this shot is the somewhat strange expression. Nice idea, good subject. I like the blurred cityscape backdrop.

Suits the challenge perfectly. I like that he's looking right at you. Makes it seems like a portrait - not a candid.
