Greetings from the Critique Club!

So many images in this challenge showed holy places in their ideal architectural beauty but few captured the emotion and impact of what these structures/symbols mean. Your's is one that does. So great job on that.

Technicals:
The lighting in this is good and efficient. The b/w treatment is perfect although looking at the image I am of the opinion that's how it pretty much looked in-camera.

Subject/composition:
The subject is good. This feels like a holy place even if there are no markers indicating such. The man's actions only tell me he has arrived at a holy place. Compositionally this is ok. The thing I don't like about the composition is the centered subject. I'm wondering how a landscape shot of this would have looked with the main subject on the right and more of those people in the background filling the frame on the left. It could have made for an interesting contrast as well as allow the eye to roam around the image better.

Verdict/Summary:
A fine image that met the challenge well. Your score was pretty good despite the centered framing and the b/w look, which typically doesn't go over too well in the challenges. So congrats on pulling out a more than worthy score. Good luck and I hope to see more of your work in the future!

Personally this is one of the pictures I prefer in this contest. A "holy place" is for me a place which for a long time men have connected with God and God's worship and sanctity. Therefore the Western Wall is a perfect example, plus here you rendered beautyfully the sacredness of a moment of prayer.

Very powerful. This photo tells a story.
Edit: Bumped to 10 for the sheer emotion present in this photo. National Geographic quality stuff.

the wailing wall? if so, it's the best picture of the wailing wall I've ever seen.

Wonderful photo! I love the honesty in this. The contrast is super. The tight crop makes me feel like I am there. Good job.

This is a great black and white shot. I know you will get "the people in the back are distracting" comments. But I disagree. I only noticed them because I looked at this one for a while. Great work. Hope you do well.

Excellent shot...I do hope this is being treated well, but knowing the DPC crowd, probably not...

This is a nice image. It makes me wonder how you got the shot. Did the subject know you were taking his photo? Not that it matters, just curious. One thing that might have helped the composition of this would be to crop the left off some, all the way into the subject's back. The chair and people in the back left are distracting and by taking a little off the left you would move your subject to an off-center position. JMO. Good luck in the challenge.

Hrm, is he playing hide and seek, looking through a hole, or having a time out? Hehe I like that there is a hidden story and it makes me wonder what he is doing. I like the people in the background with a slight motion blur too, as if whatever he is doing is normal. Intriguing!
