Greetings from the Critique Club!

Ok this may be hard to give a critique since I'd rather you be critiquing my images. :) But here goes...

Technicals:
Flawless. The lighting is impeccable. MAYBE if you shot this a bit more underexposed in RAW you could have fine tuned the hot spots better, but that's a major nitpick. The color is fantastic. I don't think you could have treated the color any better to convey night.

Subject/composition:
Excellent choice in subject. It stands out so well in the challenge. Composition wise I can't envision a better angle. Maybe there was but you pulled this off so well I almost don't want to see if there's a better way to show off this structure.

Verdict/Summary:
A winner. Not just a winner in the challenge but a winner as a standalone photograph. Congrats on your multiple ribbons and for pulling off this striking image.

Edited for spelling.

I love the use of shapes in this one. Though i might say they are a bit too obvious in your composition, they add to a feeling of structural stability. Even the alignment of the lights in the front form triangles. Magnificent night shot!

Congrats on your first ribbon! Wonderful shot.

(DPC provides us with great motivation. I, too, saw the fountain in my area for the first time at night.)

Great shot! It's unfortunate that the horizont is not straight, it breaks the perfect symetry of the picture.

Ever-so-slightly tilted horizon, but, nonetheless, amazing shot; I just love the clarity and sharpness. Great job!

Thanks for this photo. Symmetry is very appealing. Your photo came after I voted for a bunch of bad ones.

This photo will probably do well, but I've seen this building photographed too many times to appreciate it.
05/12/2006 08:27:59 PM
BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL..... I can see this as a poster. My only critique is that the left side seems a degree or two lower than the right. Easy to fix. The hard things to fix are exposure and focus and you nailed both. Great JOB 9

Oh what a beautiful image - I love this temple though I didn't visit it during my recent trip to India - have only been once. You've really captured it well here.

It is a beautiful tempel and perfect picture. The lights in front (particularly the one on the right) are driving attention a bit. 9.

Nice photography.

Fantastic building. Everything's very symmetrical and it works well for me. Nice colour.

05/11/2006 08:10:11 PM
Nice color and detail. Nicely exposed.
05/11/2006 07:59:10 PM
Great potential, but the slightly counterclockwise-rotated building is a bit distracting. First thing that grabbed me was the lighting and texture. Second thing that immediately followed was "why didn't he/she straighten the horizon?".

gotta be a top finish. perfect exposure. beautiful color. great symmetry.
05/11/2006 12:15:54 PM
Yes. . .Lotus Temple in night light is VERY beautiful!! And you've done a great job of exposing it properly and composing this shot! Great job!

Very Good.
05/11/2006 09:36:32 AM
Excellent. Nice setup.
05/11/2006 05:27:12 AM
well done and I like how clear and in focus the temple is as well as the lights coming towards the viewer, would have been nice to have some detail in the lower part of the building and the building seems alittle tilted, only small details though, seven
05/11/2006 02:55:34 AM
Yummy. Good color and sharpness. I think I would have liked to see the building and not the landing strip leading up to it. - 7
05/10/2006 09:41:09 PM
I smell a kiwi, but I could be wrong. Great picture
05/10/2006 09:39:50 PM
Lovely architectural shot! The symmetry is near perfect. I wonder if a portrait orientation would have been better so more sky is seen. (10)
05/10/2006 08:09:16 PM
Maybe my imagination but it feels tilted to the left. Distracts a bit from a wonderful subject, well photographed and presented.
