 This photo was taken at an old abandoned house near mine. My daughter was standing inside the house and her friend on the outside of the house. This photo contains very little if any spot editing. In fact I did a 5 minute edit on this photo because I didn't think it would score near this well. I would have spent more time on it had I known it was this appealing to voters. I am a terrible judge of what I think might ribbon. The original below.



I can't believe I finally won a ribbon!! OMG. After 64 entries!!!! I am so stunned. Thank you for all the great comments and for enjoying the photo!!

*Critique Club*

"Daydream" is obviously an amazing shot. You have clearly meet the challenge requirements. Congratulations on your ribbon!!!! That must be so exciting!

The image itself is clearly a great interpretation of window framing. I think what really strikes me as a voter is the connection you made between the two on both sides of the mirror, I really don't think we saw too many of these during the challenge. Being able to connect to people through the pane of glass gives this shot more emotion then the basic lake out the window. The green tint really gives an increased grunge feeling, almost like an unreal place (very ghostly). This is a very nice and artist shot. It looks like you have put a lot of effort into the shot, which is defiantly worth the time.

Overall you did an amazing job, just look at those stats.... 35 favorites, wow! Keep up the outstanding work.

Beautiful picture. It's odd but the shot makes me wish I had more "photography" time to think up and produce images as good as this one.

You hit this on all aspects. Beleive it or not, the shot invokes emotion. While it does not make me "cry", I can feel the tingling burning sensation of tears in my eyes and nose when I look at this shot !

I like your idea. You've also executed it well. It's not easy to get the clarity you have achieved by using reflections. The blurred background works with this well too.

This one has the WOW factor. Excellent composition and image tone that produces a longing mood. The top left corner is blown out and a little distracting, but that's about the only criticism. Great capture.

I really like this photo. However I dont see the "daydream" in it... I see Wanting, or even a little Haunting. I think its striking. Thats all i can say..

This is one of my favourites. At first glance it looks like a reflection, but by the placement of the hands I am not so sure.....it could be 2 people. In any case, I love the colours and the treatment, she has a melancholy look on her face that suits the entire mood of the photo.

One of the most beautiful of the challenge. Her expression is so pure and sweet, yet there is a hint of wonder and even perhaps "another world" to it. The hands of the unknown person really add to the image. I like that it's sideways and not dead on straight like so many of the entries. The green tones send it over the top for me. 10 BRAVO
