Note that I was too lazy to set the white balance properly. I was misled by the fact that the light I have says that it is corrected to daylight, so I guessed that I might not have to. I think I forgot about the lighting in my room. Oops.

Anyhow, I actually left the color in on this picture because I REALLY wanted to show the kind of detail I was able to pull on that wing.

I aligned the plane of the wing with the plane of the rear element glass to keep as much as possible in the Focal Field.

This was a tough setup and it was a bit of a fluke too to be honest as the fly was only supported by ONE LEG on an alligator clip.

Oh how I long for F/22. A useable f/11 would be nice too.

On the S2 IS, once you pass f/5.0, you start losing fine detail. I tempted fate and shot at f/5.0 and some at f/5.6. Most were at f/5.0 as I couldn't see sharpness properly at f/5.6. It's VERY apparent on pictures like these where you are stretching the limits of the camera to the very maximum.

I believe the wingtip on the lower left may indeed be in focus, but it's possible that I have run into the low sharpness zone of one of the lenses. Reversing a lens can allow you to use parts of the glass that would not ordinarily be part of the picture (I think) if the lens was mounted forwards.

Other issues might include the fact that I was mounting both lens and camera on a two tripods and was really trying to get them aligned, but the alignment wasn't perfect.

I don't have a reverse mount ring. Yet.
