Autumn c.1990
Linus appearing very intent on his shadow. Notice the cape? His first word was Batman, I kid you not. He isn't walking in the street, by the way. This is the bike path that runs along abandoned railway track through a good part of the East Bay area of Rhode Island. Most of it is in view of the Bay.
This was taken with my Minolta X370 and black and white film of some sort. Sorry, I'm just not very technically minded. I never kept track of that sort of thing, even when I took a photography class. I most often used a cheap, generic telephoto zoom back then.

beautifully composed shot, and the film look is gorgeous. some people on this site (myself included) spend a lot of time trying to simulate that look. The road that is not a road creates a surreal sense of space. A giant child? A miniature world? perhaps he is looking down at some Lilliputians... seriously, the intense way he is staring at his shadow really makes this shot. I would say that's the "heart" of the shot. Often I see beautiful shots with no heart. I think another way to say it is the "so what?" factor. Every photo begs the question, "so what? what you take this picture for?" The answer does not lie in technical prowess (though of course that's a tool that can be used in its service).
