I am so excited about this ribbon...WOW! Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. Next time I'll go easy on the border. A huge thanks to Flora for modeling. She was great and seemed to really enjoy the glam shots.

I love dragons and this is an excellent photo! What great colors and textures!

Your tones & contrasts are wonderful for it really calls attention the scales and textures of this lizard. Love the sharpness of details in the scales especially in the 'spikes'. The square format was a good choice for it keeps the eye squarely focused on the main subject - the head of this dragon and all the lovely details in the skin. My only critique/observation is that the border is slightly detracting from the stunning capture. The red border around the photo does not match any color tone from the photo itself - usually a clean white and/or black border is more effective in framing the photo without calling attention to itself. Nonetheless wonderful job!

Superb shot! The details are amazing!

WOW! I love that shot! The only thing that keeps that from being an 11 in my book (it IS a 10!) is the noise in the bokeh. A little selective noise reduction makes that shot perfect. Unbelievably cool.

Great choice of subjects, ideally lit and perfectly captured. A very well deserved and especially appropriate yellow ribbon.

Awesome - congrats!!! This is the first time, my top 3 picks landed with the ribbons and in the right order too. :D Most deserving. Still, lose the double borders, won't you? ;-)

This is truly a stunning image.

At a superficial (but critical) level, the focus and sharpness and lighting are great. Examining the composition, the way the her head angle creates leading lines draws the eye around the image, in addition to creating a great sharp region in the focal plane for the whole near side of her face. The color of the background is really elegant feeling next to the lizard's body.

Beautiful.

Awesome. I like the angle of the head, the OOF foot in the background underneath. Clarity and detail of the "spikes" are excellent. You may get dinged for the border, but this is a great capture.

No question, you captured the rough texture of this critter. I can feel it almost as surely as if i were holding it. Colors are very good (both foreground and background). DOF does a nice job of focusing attention on your subject. I like that you've captured texture on several scales (big - the chin spines, medium - around the eyes and ear (?), and small - the somewhat grainy background and blurred foot.) Nice! Hope it ribbons.

Beautiful, I expect a top ten with this lovely study. DOF is great. I just don't like the border at all.

Oh, this is wildly good! A perfect case where 720 is a Godsend, I daresay. The OOF foot at bottom is a bit of a distraction, but not too much. The border isn't helping you a lot because it's so "coarse" compared to the delicacy of detail, but it won't effect my score on this at all.
