Well I wonder if I will get dinged on the noise, but its pretty much unavoidable: 80k volts + 1 inch to digital camera + 60 seconds exposure = noise

This just proves as time and time again, it's not the equipment but the photographer that matters most.

I made a comment on the second placegetter, something like "I know this photo did not show up when I was doing my voting" and the same goes for you photo, else I would have given it a vote. Thirdplacegetters did show up though, and I did vote for it. Anyway great shot, you should be proud of yourself, well done.

What a stunning shot! What I want to know is at what end the 80kV was applied, on the fork or on the base? And where did you get 80kV from anyway?!

With creativity like that, the Contest had to "fork over" the blue ribbon. Thanks for the education, too. It's nice to know how to compose a similar photograph.

In my view, this is not the best shot in the challenge, and it doesn't meet the challenge very well in the sense of not being recognizeable. However, it is the coolest idea in the challenge, with no close competition, and is well executed! I gave it a 10 and I hope it ribbons!

Curious how you shot this. Good take to the challenge. At first it didn't look like a fork to me. I still don't know what that spraying is.

howww did you do that??!!
  Photographer found comment helpful.
03/29/2006 11:26:25 AM
First glance: It's a fork.
Really neat effect though. Could probably live with less fork in the image as it's a bit overpowering, in the top half of the shot especially.
