Sonifo's original is much better, perhaps she'll share her secret with me. This is the original:

One day I'll figure out how to make a decent selection around stuff as fuzzy as feathers or hair.
I'd welcome hints from the experts in that regard.

At least I got close enough not to leave doubt as to which photo I used to parody.

I had to rush with this photo because hubby's back was hurting him in that position, but we both got a good giggle out of it.

I hope you're not TOO disappointed that this photo didn't turn out to be the cheeseman's after all :-)

I think your photo turned out pretty good, awesome parody on the original (also, in case no-one said anything, the best way I've found to do selective desat is the sponge tool - you can even set the percentage of desat to do with it and then you use it like a brush... I'm pretty sure you find it where your burn/dodge tool is... or if you want black and white using gradient map, just make a layer with mask to single out the colored part... I always find that it's easier for me to zoom in and use a brush type tool than to try to use a selection tool)

anyway, glad you posted this in that forum... it's the first time I've seen this photo and it made my morning : ) you're lucky to have such a fun husband!

Now THAT is funny!!!! Sonifo is one of my favorite photographers at DPC and yours is a hilarious parity on her work. If I could stop laughing long enough I'd say more than just that I wish you had taken it with a bit more DOF so the good looking hairs on those legs showed up better. LOL!!!

I would ALMOST bet money that this has to be fotoman. I say ALMOST because it could be someone just as goofy. Well done.

Wow, this is so close to the original I can hardly tell them apart. Slightly different style of shoe is the only give-away I can see.
