Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Painting With Light II (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon EOS-300D Rebel
Lens: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
Location: Backyard, Vancouver, WA
Date: Feb 25, 2006
Aperture: f/22
ISO: 100
Shutter: 70
Galleries: Humorous, Science and Technology
Date Uploaded: Feb 25, 2006

Double exposure. Jenn is lit with a floodlight held over her head. I covered the lens and she stepped down. I then lit a string of christmas tree lights held at the top and lay on the ground and spun them around while Jenn uncovered the lens. Then we closed the shutter and that's it.

This was shot with my $75 50mm lens because I was "between" my nice lenses...

PP is minimal. Crop and some levels and hue. USM.

POST: Well, 4th is always cool. For the few who commented on it, I purposely blew her face and hands a bit because we all know the aliens have some bright assed lights.

A fascinating image. My first impulse was to criticize the overexposure on the subject, but just as quick I realized that this is the desired effect to comply with an abduction! You did a very nice job here and the concept certaily carried the fancy of the voters.

Congratulations on your 4th place finish: a superb effect!

congratulations on the top 4 finish Jason. I knew this would finish in the top 10...aren't I clever? Sensational shot that would have taken a great deal of work and patience by photographer and Jenn
