So cool and so deserving of a ribbon. Congratulations on your top 5 finish.

Yeah the driver has his front right tyre locked... if you look really closely you can see that he is turning slightly to the right already (next corner is a 90degree right) so the weight is transferred off the front right and thus that is the first one to lock. The car is still travelling at over 100kph at this point. The driver did not hit any walls, just went a bit wide at the apex of the corner.

Like many mentioned my major gripe was having the car too near the top of the frame. Cutting off the back of the car is intentional because the back end makes it look really girlie. In this picture it would've worked though because the rear wheel would've been spinning and you could've seen the smoke moving around it... next frame had both wheels but crap sharpness.... but these were the only two frames of a car with it's tyre properly locked after 3 days of shooting. I had lots of really cool panned shots but figured that the locked tyre adds a lot, and i think i was right.

For those wondering about the title - i had submitted a different pic originally and my slugish internet connection resulted in the title not being updated to reflect the current image.

Woah. That is one helluva capture, especially to get the whell so still - was he braking? Congratulations on 4th, so close to a ribbon!

This is such a great shot, you can see the driver's eyes in this and you can see he is locking up his wheels, isn't it great that the Michelin logo is right on top too? You couldn't have planed that. Very good, excellent. You should win this challenge.

Cool image. A slight motion on the wheels would make it more effective (for me) though. Edit: Of course, he's braking! I didn't even think about it. Doh! If I'd realized that I'd have given you a 10 instead of 9. Really an excellent capture!

Looks like he's not the only one that has locked it up here, by looking at the track.

omg - it's just a fantastic shot.. 9 - would have been a 10 if there had been more top and less bottom.

Nice job keeping the car in fairly sharp focus. Shame there was not advertising on that guard rail because the only thing it lacks is some more colour in the blur.

Very nice photo, your panning is very good. The only thing the bothers me is it seems to be cropped a little tight on the top. 9

I think i would like less forground and more background in this shot. nicely captured though.

I can't figure out this shot... Either this is a freeze motion that just looks like panning, or the wheels are locked up and this guys about to become very intimate with that wall...

I'm not crazy about the composition, but I love the subject and the panning quite a bit. This would have been a 10 with the entire car in the frame. 9

Awesome shot. composition bit tight up top, but don't know how much room you have to play with there, or if that was a deliberate choice. The fact that the car is breaking, really adds drama to the subject sharpness. Just a pity there wasn't more textured background to blur. High score from me.

Looks more like a braking lockup, but title aside, very nice capture, sharpness, and panning motion blur.

fantastic catch! this would be perfection if the driver was in focus too. But i know how hard it must have been to get this.

Ooh, GOOD subject choice, and an excellent job panning also. I wish we could see the back of the car, but it's an interesting composition without it as well.

Well done getting the front of the car sharp. I would have been tempted to call it the "unstoppa BULLS" to match the car.

Very interesting shot. Neat to see such motion in the road & background, yet have the wheel at a complete stop. The smoke from the wheel is a nice addition. Wish the car was a bit closer to the bottom of the frame, but other than that, very nice.
