I really like his style of landscape photography and enjoyed studying some of his techniques. Hopefully, I have at least done him a little justice, although I know it pales in comparison.

PP included:
Straighten horizon
Crop
Selective layers of color sat/curves, exposure/lighting, dodge/burn brush, clone brush, blend brush, sepia filter

I studied Kerik Kouklis' landscape work and saw that he worked mostly in sepia/duotones and frequently used trees as subjects in his land ethereal work. There was a tree I passed daily that I had been wanting to photograph for months and thought this would be a good time to do it. I happened to have a day where the sky was wonderfully wispy and "almost" ethereal, so came up with this. :-)

You've captured the "balance" of his tree pictures nicely. The branches appear to be coated in ice, but I suspect that's a processing artifact. Lovely tone to the picture.

I like the use duotones for this image in tribute to Kerik. Although kerik's approach to duotones is slightly more muted (less reds), I do appreciate the quality and style that you adapted to make it your own. One of Kerik's known qualities is the almost soft yet sharp images. In my opinion, this might be too sharp as seen in the halos around the smaller branches. However, this image still leaves me with thoughts of mystery and drama that I am sure will be applauded by most. Great work my friend.

The branches seem too sharp. I love the coloration you used and the mood this image sets.

So beautiful. The bare braches are like lace! The placement of the main tree is perfect so that you eye can follow to the hills in the background. Great job!! Love the filter and it certainly is a fine tribute to Kouklis.
