The picture that I'm proudest of since I've taken up this hobby. This was taken at Sarah P. Duke Gardens in September 2005.

I know that people might recognize this shot, but I still had to post it as MY Best of 2005. :-)

Wow, great capture, I would be proud of this shot too! The timing to catch this is great. I will agree with some of the other post that a bit of sharpening and maybe a boost of contrast with USM would take this to the next level of amazing. I might crop a bit off the right side as well but that is just a matter of taste for me, anyway, well done and congrats on a fine pic. If you ever give it a run through some sharpening let me know as I would love to see it! Trevor~

Beautifully composed image, but the focus could be a bit sharper.

I've seen birds, and I've seen fish, but this combination is perfect. Good job on this pic.

cool capture. The bokeh is ncie. Would try sharpening a little more though as the heron seems a bit too soft.

That poor catfish! Your focus and DOF are so sharp you can imagine you're reading a "Help me!" expression on the fish's face(?) Nice work!

Very nice capture! A bit on the soft side though. I think USM would fix that no problem.

I dont need no stinking rod and reel.

Good shot. I can already picture him working it around to get the head first.

Great action shot! Nice softness to the background. This looks very natural and right out of the camera. I think I would give it just a little saturation and contrast (slight) and sharpen it just a little. A great capture just the same.
