Camera: Canon EOS-20D

This isn't especially my favorite photo of the year and probably not my best either. But what can you do?

I saw this house while taking a drive in Wisconsin. All the windows are missing and it's pretty darn creepy. I went up to peek in the window but when I got there, I got too freaked out to look down onto the floor. There could be dead bodies!

3/2007

Not only is this not my favorite photo, it pains me to keep seeing it on my profile page. The processing hurts my eyes. Every few months, I come across this image on my computer and process it a new way. This is my current favorite:

I really like the shot composition in general, but your new version 3/2007 is the best processing by far!

LOL@ your description! It does look creepy. I love the contrast of the bright blue next to the predominantly orange scene.

Great use of colors in this one. The complimentary oranges of the grass and blue of the sky add to the eerieness of the shot.

Great shot, the house has that spooky feel, with the pitch black windows.

Awesome composition. My only beef with this image is that blues in cyans in the sky were pumped too high. It has created a blotchy and unpleasant looking sky where the blues and cyans come through.

Great compositon and subject. I love the foreground details and color. The sky has some artifacts from over saturation, though.

I love the wide angle approach to this photo. It immediately draws you into the abandoned building. The composition is nicely done and allows the viewers eyes to wander. The only part that I'm not too keen on are the lue parts of the sky ... it looks to be a little unnatural. JMO

Sorry but the sky just looks really bad and fake, not at all fond of the PP work you did on it. Shame, as I really like the rest, the grass and house look nice with good, strong colour and good composition. Gave this a 4, never know what I might have given if the sky had just been dramatic, not this oversaturated, smudgy, blown out mess.

Great light although I feel there are some compression problems on the trees on the right. There is also some quite obvious effects of post-processing namely the strong and abrupt vignette on the bottom right hand corner and the overly bright area surrounding the house and along some of the horizon.

I think you did push the colors just a little much here, but it's obviously not hurting you too much. The composition and feeling in this photo is exquisite, and I *love* how the sky looks.. The orange/red fire in the grass isn't my favorite though.. I liked it a bit better a little more unsaturated :)

Great entry for the challenge though, sure beats the squirrel. lol
